1890 "The Soldier in Our Civil War" Illustrated Two Volume Set

An 1890 antique set of The Soldier in Our Civil War, complete in two oversized hardcover volumes. Subtitled ‘A Pictorial History of the Conflict, 1861-1865’, the work is illustrated with numerous steel engravings by various artists who were eyewitnesses to the conflict, including many full-page and double-page engravings, along with text. Published by Stanley Bradley Publishing Company of New York and originally sold by subscription only. Each volume is bound in a blue cloth hardcover with embossed, gilt lettering and designs.
Condition
- loose hinges, but covers are still attached and bindings are good. Cover wear and paper yellowing consistent with age.
