A handwoven alpaca area rug. This shaggy rug, which is possibly Peruvian, begins with a soft stepped star medallion in white at the center of a mocha-brown field. A pair of black horizontal bars edged in white are featured at the top and bottom of the otherwise open field. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with delicate long ivory warp fringe.It is unlabeled.
