Frank Whiting and Crown Weighted Sterling Candle Holders and Compotes
Item Details
A collection of weighted sterling silver. The group is composed of candlesticks and compotes. The featured examples were made with Imperial’s popular Candlewick glass attached to Crown sterling candle sticks to make compotes. There is also a sterling square compote by Frank M. Whiting and Empire sterling candle holders. The piece have similar shapes with gadrooned edges. There are impressed marks for ‘Frank M. Whiting’ ,‘Crown’ and ‘Empire’ together with ‘Sterling Silver’ and ‘Weighted’.
Condition
- some minor surface wear with faint markings and tarnishing; a large dent on the base of one candlestick holder.
