A hand-knotted Anatolian area rug. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of cream, sage, deep pink and teal. It features a grid pattern of hexagonal medallions in two rows. Each medallion is seeded with a stylized scorpion motif, surrounded by ram’s horns, hooks, and other motifs. The field is framed by a compound border that features a floral and diamond pattern. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing with wool warp fringe. It rug is unlabeled.
