Willem Steelink Oil Painting "The Wood Cutters"

An oil painting on board titled The Wood Cutters by listed artist Willem Steelink II (1856-1928). This painting depicts a pair of figures binding wood together in a clearing, a collection of line of spindly trees behind them as well as to the right of the scene. This painting is signed to the lower right and includes a plaque bearing the name of the artist centered beneath the piece. This work is presented in an ornate gold tone frame with an ivory liner and a wire for hanging to the verso, along with an assortment of gallery and framer’s tags, one with the name of the piece written on it in ink.

- poor; paint loss to artwork; general wear throughout painting; wear to front and verso of frame; cracking tape to verso of frame; foxing to frame liner.
