A signed limited edition serigraph on paper by well-listedModernist wildlife artist, Ikki Matsumoto (Tokyo/Cincinnati/Sanibel Island; 1934 – 2014), titled Blue Heron. The image depicts a striking blue heron mid-strut in tall, swaying marsh grass, alertly scanning the water for prey. The print is numbered 26/750 and signed by the artist in pencil to the bottom margin. Artist seal is inked to the lower right, next to the signature. This work is mounted under coordinating double mat, behind glass in a beveled wood frame with a black finish and silver-tone border, equipped to hang.
Matsumoto attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati in 1957 to study under Charley Harper.
