An original oil painting on canvas by contemporary Italian-American artist Joseph Baris (born 1939), titled Luce di Sera. The painting depicts a grassy field lined with cedar trees bordering a stunning rocky coastline. The water is cast in pastel shades of purple and blue beneath a cloudy periwinkle sky. The painting is signed by the artist to the lower left; mounted in a contemporary carved wooden plein air frame with a bright gold leaf finish, equipped to hang. Baris immigrated to Cincinnati in 1956, where he studied periodically under Roland Huston and Chuck Marshall. Joseph’s work is held in private and corporate collections and he has shown in many galleries. He is also a member of the Cincinnati Art Club and the American Impressionist Society.
