Pair of Dorothea Dana Unframed Watercolor Paintings
Item Details
A pair of original unframed watercolor paintings on paper with by 20th century American artist Dorothea (Dobias) Dana. The first is titled Woodlot on the Mountain, and depicts a snowy forest landscape. The painting is signed to the lower right and titled to the verso, where a painting of horses racing across a hilly landscape is crossed out with a large ‘X.’ The second painting is double-sided; one side depicts geese flying over a small pond, and one side depicts figures standing near a teepee in a mountainous landscape. This painting is unsigned, but comes directly from a collection of the artist’s works. Both are presented without matting or framing.
Condition
- to fair. Various amounts of yellowing and light warping/ripping to edges across pieces. Tape residue to edges of first piece.
