A collection of commemorative Wedgwood Silver Jubilee trinket boxes and plates designed by Susie Cooper, OBE. This collection includes two small plates and two trinket boxes with an orange, yellow, green and taupe floral and foliate design. All are marked on the exterior ‘The 25th anniversary 1953 of the Coronation of 1978 HM Queen Elizabeth II’ and on the bottom ‘Wedgwood, Bone China, Made in England, Susie Cooper Design, To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the coronation of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, 1953-1978, A limited edition of 500’.
Cooper (English, 1902 – 1995), was a noted ceramics designer and recipient of the “Royal Designer for Industry” from the Royal Society of Arts (1940.) In 1979, she received an OBE for her contributions to the British ceramics industry. Please see the link here for more information on her work.
