Semi-Antique Hand-Knotted Anatolian Room Sized Rug
Item Details
A semi-antique hand-knotted Anatolian room sized rug. This wool rug features a dense herati pattern throughout the field with small corner spandrels and large cartouche medallions at the end that have curvilinear vine patterns. The rug offers a cartouche primary border that features peony floral sprays with a meandering floral pattern that is flanked by guard borders that display herati, running water, and floral patterns. The rug is finished with overcast selvedge edges and a wool warp fringe at either end. The rug has a cloth strip sewn at the fringe end to prevent further loss of fringe. Unlabeled.
