A semi-antique Persian Arak area rug. This wool rug is hand-knotted in a palette of rose, deep midnight blue, and sapphire. It features a Lilihan-inspired design incorporating symetrically arranged palmettes, flowers, lancet leaves, vines, and partial vase-and-bouquet motifs over a rose-colored field. Framing the field are compound borders including a primary herati border over rose and two meandering floral and foliate minor borders over deep midnight blue. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with short, ivory wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
- there is some fading; fraying along selvedges; stitching at fringe ends may indicate repair.
