Item Details
A hand woven Peruvian style kilim textile fragment. This antique textile features central band depicting stylized sea creatures with many eyes and two outer bands depicting birds – possibly chickens. These patterns are in a palette of madder, camel, tan, and black. It is mounted on stretched black fabric and presented behind glass. A personal note is written to the verso, and the piece is wired for hanging.
Condition
- to poor; frayed throughout; hole to the upper right; lower right corner is missing; dust collection on glass; fading and staining present in multiple places.
