Jorge Prada Gouache Paintings With Pastel of Nazca Vessels

A collection of gouache paintings with pastel on paper of Nazca vessels, by artist Jorge Prada. These brightly-rendered works include a depiction of a ceremonial vase with a bearded god’s face, a double-peak vessel with a hummingbird motif, and a ceremonial cup apparently bearing an image of the Nazca god of agriculture. Each carefully-worked painting bears a notation to the verso with a explanation of the subject in Spanish and is signed by the artist, along with the date ‘80’ to the lower right of the main image. They are presented behind glass in wood frames with yellow mats and wires for hanging. The Nazca people inhabited the southern coast of Peru from about 100 BC-800 AD, and were known for their crafts and textiles.
