A collection of vintage Susie Cooper teaware. Cooper (English, 1902 – 1995), was a noted ceramics designer and recipient of the ‘Royal Designer for Industry’ from the Royal Society of Arts (1940.) In 1979, she received an OBE for her contributions to the British ceramics industry. This collection includes a variety of her pieces, including an orange and mocha-striped tall, modern tea pot, having a domed cover with steam hole and teardrop finial. Included are a rectangular serving tray with a bright blue and green stylized fish pattern, the tray having extended handles to either end, and a round ombré teal covered sugar bowl with a teardrop handle and a hand-painted rose decoration in the Patricia Rose pattern. Included is a pink and red starburst spotted teapot, and a cream jug in the Patricia Rose 1658 pattern. Also included is a teacup and saucer in the _Dresden Rose- pattern, and a ribbed tea cup and saucer with pale orange and teal striping. Each piece is marked ‘Susie Cooper’ to the underside, some with ‘Crown Works, Burslem’ and some simply with her name and ‘England.’
