In Plate

A set of three mid-century Paris Etching Society botanical intaglio prints on paper by Avril. Included are Plate 10: Jacinthe, Narcisses, Souci; Plate 8 Belle de Jour; and Plate 11 Muguet, Gladioles, Oreille d’Ours. The prints depict small floral bouquets in hues of yellow, orange, green, blue and purple. Each is noted with ‘Avril Sculp.’ in plate to the lower right, with notations of ‘B, R, SZL’ to the lower left. The ‘SZL’ marking denotes the prints’ inclusion in Sidney Z. Lucas’s Paris Etching Society. Each work is presented under glass in a decorative gold tone wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.

- toning and foxing to paper; light wear to frames and linen liners.
