Antique Yellowware Jug With a Rockingham Glaze

A mid-nineteenth century pitcher. The jug was made from a yellow earthenware body that was used in both England and the United States. The piece was likely made in the United States based on the form. It is decorated with a mottled Rockingham or Bennington style brown glaze. The body features beaded borders and molded decoration. The pitcher is free from maker’s marks as is typical for the type of piece at the period.
