Circa 1900 Joseph Guarneri Copy Violin With Outfit
Item Details
An antique Joseph Guarneri reproduction violin, German-made circa 1900. The violin has a two-piece spruce wood top accompanied by maple ribs and a two-piece flame maple back. The pegs and fingerboard are made of ebony. The red and orange overtones to the varnish is unique to this time period and may have been refinished in the later twentieth century. The violin outfit includes a Roth-Glasser fiberglass bow and a felted hard case. The key to the case is included.
Condition
- to Fair; varnish damage from lingering rosin, would benefit from cleaning; crack to the rib in the lower bout as well as open seams to the lower bout; center seam split to the top; the violin was not inspected by a professional luthier.
