A circa late 19th century antique hardcover volume of X. Y. Z. and 7 to 12: Detective Stories by Anna Katharine Green, writing under her initials as ‘A.K. Green’. Green was an early popularizer of detective stories, and is sometimes called ‘the mother of the detective novel’. This edition collects two of her stories in one volume, published by Ward, Lock & Co. of London, and bound in a red cloth hardcover.
