Vintage Duncan Parking Meter Mounted on a Base

A vintage Duncan parking meter mounted on a base. Thus retro orange parking meter has a two hour time windowed limit and took pennies, nickels and dimes as payment. On one side of this meter is a written reminder to ‘Drive Carefully Save a Life’and a metal tag numbered ‘33’. The reverse side displays coin slots with the turning mechanism that accepts the coins, with a locked compartment that holds the coins. The compartment door is embossed ‘Duncan-Miller’ and below that on a metal plate are the instructions for operation along with ’Manufactured by Duncan Parking Meter Corp. Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. Meter is mounted on square piece of wood.
