A hand-knotted Sino-Persian area rug. This Chinese-made wool rug is rendered in a palette of cream, camel, blue-black, rose, and sage. It features a Persian-inspired floral design beginning with a round pendant medallion, which encloses several smaller concentric medallions. The medallion rests on a cream-grounded lozenge, which in turn rests on a camel-colored field. Each phase of the field is filled with florals and foliage. Framing the field are four borders, including three floral borders grounded in camel or blue-black and an outer guard boder of cream. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short kilim skirts and ivory wool warp fringe. It is labeled on the reverse.
