A 1973 oil portrait on canvas. The piece depicts a melancholy female subject with short brown hair and green clothing, set against a variegated orange and yellow background. The work is signed ‘M.A.S. 73’ in brown paint to the lower right, with an additional notation to the verso of ‘Maria Melankoli’. It is presented without glass in a wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
