A semi-antique Turkish Heriz area rug. This wool rug is hand-knotted in an abrashed palette of cranberry, sapphire, crimson. black, and ivory. It features a classic Heriz design beginning with a large, rectilinear star pendant medallion, which encloses a smaller star. The medallion rests on a cranberry-colored field populated with symmetrically arranged lancet leaves, palmettes, and flowers. Spandrels are deep, with phases in ivory, cranberry, and sapphire. The field is framed by compound borders including a stylized primary turtle border over black. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing at either end with unbound wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
A handwoven Anatolian area rug. The rug features a central medallion in a palette of powder blue, deep blue, cream, and red and sits on top of a deep red field. The field is populated by floral patterns and vines with deep red spandrels. It is enclosed by a compound border that features a turtle pattern in a complementary palette. It has overcast edges and a wool fringe. Unmarked.
