Semi-Antique Hand-Knotted Persian Hamadan Accent Rug
Item Details
A semi-antique Persian Hamadan accent rug. This rectilinear wool rug is hand-knotted in an abrashed palette of rose, indigo, ivory, pink, and camel. It begins with a north-of-center star medallion over a rose-colored field, with indigo spandrels. Populating the field are the elements of a stylized herati pattern, with an emphasis on the pattern’s diamond shapes and motifs. The field is framed by four borders, including a complex primary border grounded in brown. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at one end with very short wool warp fringe and an overcast edge at the other. The rug is unlabeled.
