A watercolor-embellished portrait with gouache detailing on paper of a police officer. This portrait, which depicts a bearded figure in what appears to be a police uniform from the mid-19th century, appears to have a graphite underdrawing and is captured in light washes, with special attention paid to the beard and hair. This work is unsigned and is matted under glass and presented in a decorative frame with wire for hanging.
