Black Lacquered Panel with Enamelled Medallions

A lacquered wood panel with enamelled medallions. This intricate piece, which has gold tone designs printed throughout, is mounted with three slightly convex enamel medallions, each with floral motifs fired onto copper-toned metal. Each medallion is captured in a palette of blues, greens, and yellows, the center of the middle piece bearing an image of a red-capped crane, its wings outstretched. This panel does not have any visible maker’s marks and has wire to its verso to facilitate hanging.
