Vintage Chinese Ebonized Elm Armchair

Item Details

A vintage ebonized elm Chinese armchair. This chair features a scrolled crest and scrolled arms; its back features a wooden panel with an excerpt from the I Ching, or Book of Changes, inscribed upon it. The seat is square and plain, leading to the seat rail with carved rosette blocks above the slightly splayed legs. The chair, with the exception of the text block, has been painted black.
