A David White Company surveyor’s transit in an oak box. This finger jointed oak box has the remnants of a heavy leather carrying strap attached to the ends.The metal clamp closure does not lock. It contains a transit with bracing inside and is also marked with an oval brass plaque (Milwaukee) on the lid.
