An oil painting on canvas portrait of a female nude attributed to French painter Georges Mouton (19/20th century). A seated nude woman pulls up her fiery red hair and gazes downwards to the hand mirror set on a chair. Drawn curtains conceal a view through the windows in front of her. Signed to the lower right in paint appearing to be in Mouton’s hand. The canvas has been re-stretched and remains unframed.

Condition

- canvas has been re-stretched on its original frame with straight corners, stretcher keys and cross support; original canvas edges can be found along the side of the stretcher; original canvas has been laid over linen and re-mounted with the original round head nails; some paint loss around the edges from previous framing; scratch to the lower center of the painting; minor craquelure present throughout.
