Arbit Blatas Oil Portrait Painting of Seated Man
Item Details
An oil portrait painting on masonite of a seated man by Lithuanian artist Arbit Blatas (1908-1999). Signed by hand to the lower right corner, the painting depicts a man dressed in a suit and tie seated in a wooden chair. The painting is mounted in a brown and gold tone wood frame with a beige liner and wooden fillet. A wire for hanging purposes is present to verso. Blatas studied at the School of Paris and is best known for his paintings of landscapes and portraits.
Condition
- abrasions along top edge; residue to lower left; stains to linen liner, wear and chips to frame finish.
