An original acrylic painting on canvas by contemporary Cincinnati-based artist Robbie Kemper (born 1957), titled Red in Black Shapes, circa 2010. The painting, executed with a strong Abstract Expressionist aesthetic, depicts an energetic, non-objective composition of saturated pink and red pigments layered and flung onto a field of integrated white and fleshy brown and peach. Artist signature is signed to the lower left. This piece is not framed. Kemper studied art at the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning, and is currently a studio resident at the Pendleton Art Center in the historic district of Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati, Ohio.
