Nihon Gasui-Sha Japanese Woodblock Print of Woman and Child

A Japanese woodblock print from a series published by the Japan Print Purity Company (日本畫粹社 Nihon Gasui Sha) between 1923 and 1926. The series reprinted a number of prints by Japanese Ukiyo-e artists. The print depicts a traditionally dressed woman with a child. Primary colors are black, red and gray on a light tan field. The print is presented matted under glass in a faux bamboo frame. There is a picture wire attached to the back.

Condition

- scratches and nicks to frame; tears to backing paper; black specks to mat at lower left.
