Caleb Siemon "Two Banded" Crystal Vase in Ruby and Latte

Item Details

A hand shaped, lead free crystal vase from the Two Banded line by listed American glassblower Caleb Simeon (20th/21st-Century), created in 2004. The hand shaped vase features distinct color registers of lattimo to the bottom and ruby color to the top. The harmonious colors are contrasted by their difference in opaqueness and a banded line that divides them. Designed by Caleb Siemon & Carmen Salazar and made in California. Inscribed signature and date to the bottom. Presented with eight stick-on rubber pads to the base for protection from scratching.

Simeon was hooked on glass in high school which led him to attend the Rhode Island School of Design. He then traveled to Murano, Italy and landed an apprenticeship with master glass sculptor, Pino Signoretto, where he spent two years in the Muranese studio. Simeon returned to Southern California in 1999 and constructed his own Italian-style studio utilizing methods from his time at the Muranese studio. Siemon also draws influence from the Scandinavian tradition of simple designs and form. His work exhibits internationally and is featured in galleries around the world.
