Burmese Kalaga Embroidered Elephant

Item Details

A Burmese kalaga embroidery. This square piece features an elaborately dressed central elephant in a circle border with layers of square borders beyond that. The whole piece is done with metallic thread, sequins, and rhinestones. It is presented behind glass and framed with wire for hanging.

Condition

- minor scrapes to the framework; some loose threads and missing sequins; patch on elephant’s back where ground fabric shows through.
