Late 19th Century German Porcelain Plaque in Shadowbox Frame

Item Details

A late 19th century painted porcelain plaque illustrating the Madonna and child, both with faint halos. The subject of the painting is a detail after Raphael’s 1512 painting titled The Sistine Madonna. The plaque retains the retailer’s paper labeling for Ernst Arnold, Dresden, Germany at the back. The rectangular porcelain is presented under glass in a shadow box frame with a carved gold molding.
