A group of collectible Christmas plates designed by Helmut Drexler for the Classic Rose collection made by Rosenthal of Germany. These fifteen plates depict winter scenes of cathedrals, churches and other buildings throughout Germany and one from The Netherlands. This set of plates includes years 1985 (Augsburg, St. Ulrich and Afra), 1986 (Amsterdam, Oude Kerk), 1988 ( Waldsassen, Wallfahrtskirche Kappel), 1987 ( München, Nationaltheater), 1989 (Zeil Am Main, Bergkapelle Kappele), 1990 (Wallfahrtskirche Vierzehnheiligen), 1991 (Dresden, Kreuzkirche), 1992 (Leipzig, St. Nikolaikirche), 1993 (Potsdam, Garnisonkirche), 1995 (Bonn, Kreuzbergkirche,) 1996 (Berlin, Franzosischer Dom), 1997 (Wallfahrtskirche Wies Bei Steingaden Obb), 1998 (Dresden, Frauenkirche), 1999 (Limburg Dom), and 2000 (Worms Dom). The hand-painted plates are marked to the back with the issue number, ‘Weihnachsteller’, the name of the city and building, and ‘Entwurf: Helmet Drexler – Rosenthal – Classic – Germany – Unterglasur/Handgemalt’. Some of the items are marked ‘Classic Rose – Rosenthal Group Germany’.
