A Louis XV style rosewood commode with red marble top. This rosewood veneer chest features a rectangular red marble top with notched front corners over a pair of stacked drawers, flanked by chamfered and inlay stiles including applied decorative moldings, resting on saber legs with chamfered edges ending in applied moldings. The drawers include decorative pulls, escutcheon, and a floral oval medallion comprised of birdseye maple, mahogany and rosewood inlays. The drawers also include framed parquetry inlays over an apron with applied metal wreath molding. The sides mimic the parquetry design.
