John K. Spicer Hand-Crafted Curly Maple Armoire
Item Details
A John K. Spicer hand-crafted curly maple armoire. Borrowing from examples of fine 17th and 18th century American furniture craftsmanship, this stunning armoire is hand-planed of curly maple and constructed with mortise and tenon joinery. It features a hand-rubbed antiqued honey-tone finish contrasted with black knobs. It is topped with wide crown moulding over a pair of arched raised panel doors with two recessed square panel doors below. It is raised on a slightly stepped-out base with ogee bracket feet. This piece was originally designed as a media cabinet, but has been repurposed as an armoire. The top provides adjustable shelving on three levels. The bottom doors open to two levels of storage. Crafted by the John K. Spicer & Son Furniture Company of South Lebanon, Ohio. A true statement piece. It is located on the main level of the home; professional movers are recommended.
