A pair of lithographs on paper after drawings by Honore Daumier (French, 1808 – 1879). The first work, titled Plead Not Guilty, depicts a courtroom scene with a lawyer speaking to his client. The second work, titled A Respected Citizen, depicts a man wearing a suit, seated in a courtroom while the attorney standing next to him argues his case. Both pieces are monogrammed in plate and marked as published by ‘New York Graphic Society, Fine Art Publishers’ to the lower left corner and ‘Printed in U. S. A.’ to the lower right corner. Both works are presented as unframed prints.
