An original 1939 stone lithograph by well-listed and prolific American Scene painter, muralist and lithographer, Thomas Hart Benton (Missouri/Massachusetts/Kansas; 1889 – 1975), titled Planting (Spring Plowing). The image depicts two farmers working in a whimsical, stylized field with the help of a mule pulling a wooden plow. Artist signature is printed in plate to the lower right and hand-signed in pencil just below in the margin. This print is mounted under white mat, behind glass in a glossy black frame, equipped to hang. A label to the verso contains additional information about the artist.
