Hand-Knotted Indo-Persian Runner

A hand-knotted Indo-Persian runner. This long wool rug is rendered in a palette of cherry red, pink, cream, and cerulean. It features a Kerman-style floral pattern consisting of sprays and clusters of small flowers, and regularly spaced single-flower centerpieces, over a cream-colored field. Framing the field are three narrow floral borders, grounded in cherry and cerulean. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with knotted ivory wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
