A hand-knotted Persian Isfahan area rug. This finely made rug features a light blue, cream, and sage green medallion inside a navy blue field embellished with an arabesque of acanthus and lancet leaves in shades of brown and green. The color scheme and motif of the medallion is carried through to the spandrels. A herati pattern in shades of light blue, brown and green fills the navy blue main border, and a crab type pattern accents the cream tone guard borders. The rug is finished with navy blue side cord and short white natural warp fringe. Unmarked.
