Robert Fabe Original Ink Wash Drawing "Balkan Village"
Item Details
An original 1968 black-and-white ink wash drawing on heavyweight rag paper with deckled edges by well-listed Cincinnati, Ohio-based genre painter Robert Fabe (1917 – 2004), titled Balkan Village. The piece depicts a small mountainous village as viewed from a vantage point high on a hill. Two figures can be seen lounging outside of nearby homes, and rows of small houses and trees can be seen stretching across the valley below. The piece is signed in black to the lower right. It is mounted to beige-gray backing and is presented behind glass in an angled wooden frame with brushed gold tone finish and a sawtooth hanger. A tag attached to the verso gives the piece’s title and creation date. Fabe’s work is included in the permanent collections of the Cincinnati Art Museum, Miami University, the University of Cincinnati, the Dayton Art Institute, and the Butler Art Institute, as well as many reputed corporate collections.
