A two-volume edition of Zell’s Popular Encyclopedia, A Universal Dictionary of English Language, Science, Literature, and Art by L. Colange. This reference work was published by T. Ellwood Zell of Philadelphia, the first volume in 1870 and the second in 1871. The books are tan leatherbound hardcover royal octavo volumes and feature over two thousand woodcut illustrations, with many pages including multiple illustrations in line with the columns of text.
