An oil painting on canvas of a mother and child by Haitian artist Joseph Jacob (b. 1924). Signed by hand to the lower right corner, the painting depicts a mother and child reading by candlelight. Mounted under a single layer of orange matting and a gold tone metal fillet, the painting is presented in a silver tone metal frame. A gallery decal, sawtooth hardware, and a wire for hanging purposes are present to the verso of the frame. The print is accompanied by a information about a different painting by the same artist.
