Salvador Dalí Original Aquatint Etching "The Mirror of Chivalry"

A signed limited edition aquatint etching with a la poupée coloring on Arches fine printmaking paper by famed Spanish Surrealist Salvador Dalì (1904 – 1989), titled The mirror of chivalry from the artist’s series Historia de Don Quichotte de la Mancha. The print depicts several Cubist blue and yellow figures in a wide Surrealist landscape. The print is signed by Dalì and numbered 14/300 in pencil to the lower corners. When removed from the frame, the artist’s ‘Dalart N.V.’ blindstamp is visible to the lower right. The print is matted in white linen with a gold tone white filet. It is presented behind glass in a wide, dark-stained wooden frame with hooks for a hanging wire to the verso. Included as field 80-1 I in the Catalogue Raisonné, “The Official Catalog of the Graphic Works of Salvador Dalí” by Albert Field.

Condition

- to fair. Yellowing, discoloration, and foxing are all visible in margins beneath matting.
