A signed limited edition serigraph on cream Speckltone paper by well-listed and world-renowned American street artist and activist Shepard Fairey (California/South Carolina; born 1970), titled Yellow Cans, released in 2009. The original image was a mixed media collage created by Fairey as part of his contribution to L.E.A.D. Uganda, an educational leadership initiative for vulnerable Ugandan children affected by AIDS, war, and poverty, and provides them with the knowledge and tools to transform their lives. From the collage, 450 serigraphs were created, depicting a young Ugandan child carrying two gas jugs, gazing at the viewer with large, honest eye. A stylized mandala backdrop emanating rays of red and white frame the child’s face. Artist signature is signed and dated in pencil to the lower right. This print is numbered 4/450; matted in black, set behind glass in a simple composite frame with a natural wood semblance, equipped to hang.
