An original 2014 contemporary abstract 5-piece acrylic painting on wood panel installation by American artist and designer Melinda Esmond (20th/21st century). This stunning installation utilizes the square shapes of the wooden substrates to create a solid, neutral-colored planes of sensuous textures and tactility. White pigments are raked across pale, muted concrete grays, resulting in areas of scaly, primordial formations and ashy, marked terrain. Artist signature is signed and dated to the verso of each panel. This installation is equipped to hang.
Esmond creates both commissions and original works inspired by her own ‘urban organic’ aesthetic, often drawing texture and imagery from textiles used in her Interior Design career. She has exhibited at the Mojo Collection as well as other galleries in Kansas City’s reputable Crossroads Art District, and has pieces housed in permanent corporate and private collections across the nation.
