An original 2017 contemporary abstract acrylic and resin painting on canvas by American artist and designer Melinda Esmond (20th/21st century). The image utilizes the square shape of the canvas substrate to create a solid, neutral-colored plane of sensuous textures and wet sheen. White pigments are raked across pale, muted beige, resulting in areas of scaly, primordial formation and ashy, cracked terrain. Artist signature is signed and dated to the side of the canvas. This work is unframed, equipped to hang.
Esmond creates both commissions and original works inspired by her own ‘urban organic’ aesthetic, often drawing texture and imagery from textiles used in her Interior Design career. She has exhibited at the Mojo Collection as well as other galleries in Kansas City’s reputable Crossroads Art District, and has pieces housed in permanent corporate and private collections across the nation.
