An unframed 1980 signed limited edition serigraph cream rag paper with deckled edges by Italian Conceptual artist and art theorist Michelangelo Pistoletto (born 1933), titled Untitled (Art Assumes Religion), plate V in Pistoletto’s series titled I Am the Third. The image depicts a classical rendering of a slightly out-of-focus sketch of a young boy’s head, situated on a pedestal between four Corinthian pillars. Artist signature is printed in screen to the lower right center, and hand-signed in pencil to the lower right margin. The print is numbered 32 in an edition of 100 in pencil to the lower left margin. Pistoletto is acknowledged today as one of the primary representatives of the Italian contemporary art movement of Arte Povera. His work is represented in the permanent collections of numerous reputed institutions, including the Guggenheim Museum, the Tate Gallery, and the Flint Institute of Arts, among others.

Condition

- margins and edges of print are worn and lightly creased, but would be easily concealed with proper matting and framing.
