Hand-Knotted Persian Sarab Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Sarab area rug. This wool rug features rosettes in a medallion with palmette and lancet leaf pendants in a central lozenge that has tribal markings throughout with spandrels at each corner. The primary border offers a cartouche pattern flanked by a reciprocal trefoil and two checkered guard borders. The rug is finished with overcast selvedge edges and a wool warp fringe at either end. A tag marked ‘84384’ is attached to the reverse, other wise unlabeled.
